After what feels like years, the film reboot of the massively popular Mortal Kombat game franchise has finally released it’s long awaited trailer. Featuring gory action sequences and their iconic fatalities, Mortal Kombat seems to capture everything fans love about the franchise and has this obsessive film watcher counting down the days to it’s release.

Mortal Kombat is directed and produced by Simon McQuoid in his feature directorial debut with a screenplay written by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham based upon a story by Oren Uziel and Russo. The film is based upon the video game franchise of the same name which was created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. The film stars Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Mortal Kombat releases on April 16, 2021. It will be available to watch on HBO Max as well as Theaters (where open).
