As reported by Deadline (an article by Nancy Tartaglione), James Cameron’s Avatar as reclaimed its historic title of “The Highest-Grossing Film of All-Time.
After receiving a re-release in China by Disney, the film acquired an additional $8.9 million which surpassed the $7.82 million gap.
Disney most likely did this in order to advertise the upcoming sequels. What sounds better than “The Sequel to the Highest-Grossing Film of All-Time”?
Avatar was released in 2009 and received an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.
